Yesterday I gave Madelynn her first bath. It went pretty well. She only cried when I washed her face and rinsed her hair. She seemed pretty freaked out the rest of the time though.
Her rainforest bath tub is so cool.
She also didn't like being dried off to much.
it's a clean baby!!
The clean baby needed a nap. She fell asleep holding onto her blanket.
On Sunday I took Madelynn to Casey to have him watch her and wake her up while I got ready that way I could feed her and get her ready while he got ready. Well when I went back in the room to get her this is what I found. I thought this was the cutest thing ever. They look exactly the same.
Madelynn is 2 weeks old. 2 weeks seems like such a short time but I feel like I've had her forever. She's now 11lbs 3oz. She didn't have a check up with the doctor this week cause she was doing so good last week so Casey and I checked her weight with our scale.
She still can't do much and I think that drives her Daddy crazy. I like it though. I get to cuddle with her all day.
Madelynn thinks that bed time, however isn't untill 1am. Sometimes she goes to sleep before then but most of the time I have to put her to sleep myself by sitting with her in the chair in the living room. The past 2 or 3 nights I've slept at least 3 hours in our ever so not comfortable recliner. I'm hoping there's some way to figure out how to get her to go to bed earlier cause I don't think my back or butt can take that recliner much longer.
Madelynn's Great Grandma bought her the cutest bed set. We got it on Tuesday. Madelynn loves it so much that she has already pooped on the sheets. It's the rainforest theme just like all of her other stuff but it's all pink. It's super cute. I'm so glad that her Great Grandma bought it for her.
I had WIC this week and they weighed me. I was super excited to find out that I weigh 20lbs less than I did before I got pregnant. That means when I had her I lost 40lbs!! Cause the whole time I was pregnant I only gained 20. I don't know how it happened. But it's amazing. Now all I have to do is get rid of the flat tire that used to be my pregnant belly and I'll be good. I also wouldn't mind loosing another 20 or so pounds.
Well I'm going to go attempt to clean some while my baby is still sleeping. She's so cute when she sleeps. I don't get much done when she goes to sleep in my arms cause I just wanna hold her and cuddle her all day.
Yesterday was Madelynn's first doctor's visit. She was a happy little girl all morning and when we got there but as soon as we got into the exam room there was no making her that happy baby again. It was the first time that she's cried when I was undressing or dressing her. There was nothin really to make her happy. Dr. Matt said that she's a very healthy baby. The doctor also said that if Madelynn wants to sleep through the night I could go ahead and let her because she's gaining weight and so healthy. When she was born she was 10lbs 14oz. When we left the hospital she was just 10lbs. By the time we got to the doctor she had already gained 8oz of that back. Because of that Dr. Matt said I could let her sleep through the night. I will be so excited if that happens. As of right now she wakes up somewhere between 2 and 3 and doesn't want to go back to sleep untill about 4. Don't know what that's all about but when she does start sleeping through the night I'll be a very excited mommy. Back to the Dr. Appointment. Dr. Matt said that Madelynn is in the highest percentile on her weight(which I knew), height, and head size. To me I didn't think her head looks that big but it's cause it fits her body. When the doctor was done examining her I got to redress her. Again the only time she's cried while being dressed. Then I had to finish filling out papers. I'm not to sure everthing on those papers is 100% correct or the right thing is in the right spot cause I had a mad baby in my arms. After the Doctor we went to my grandma's house so I could feed her and so my grandparents could see her. She turned back into my happy little girl. The rest of the day yesterday she didn't cry one bit. I don't know what it was about the doctor's office but she definatly didn't like it and they didn't even do anything to her. I can't wait to see what happens on her one month visit when they have to give her all of her shots.....
